Ambassador Tom Loftus Exhibit

Don't miss a special exhibit of the memorabilia of Sun Prairie luminary Tom Loftus currently on view in the Sun Prairie Historical Library and Museum's display cases.  From his beginnings in Sun Prairie, Tom Loftus went on to become the Ambassador to Norway from 1993 to 1998, and served as Special Advisor to the director of the World Health Organization from 1998 to 2005.  He was a Democratic member of the Wisconsin Legislature representing Sun Prairie from 1977 to 1991, serving as Speaker of the Assembly for eight years.  He also served as a member of the UW Board of Regents from from 2006 to 2011.

This exhibit is a collaborative effort involving Tom Loftus, Alec Loftus, the Loftus family, Sue Meyer, The Sun Prairie High School History Club and its advisor, Steve Braatz, Donna Davis, Sue Stowell, Peter Klein, Jordan Stiefel, Bryan Aughey, Evan Kaminski, Taylor and Olivia Oehrlein, Weston Weisensel, Grace Richmond, the Missionary Elders and Missionary Sisters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Acting Museum Curator, Israel Gonzales.

Ambassador Loftus will be at the library for a special presentation on Tuesday, September 15 at 6:30 p.m. where he will recount his journey from his Sun Prairie roots to the United States Embassy in Norway, while bringing to life his distinguished display.
